Thanks to everyone who came out to our Brisbane shows. Boy, we had a great time, and great to play to a sell-out crowd at The Junk Bar, and for such friendly people. We love you guys, and we’ll be back next year for sure.

The next Experiment show will be in Melbourne on Sunday November 18th, when we barrel into another two sets at one of our favourite venues, The Standard in Fitzroy.

We’ve got something pretty exciting planned for the end of the year too - a special ‘double band’ gig with Brisbane group Trichotomy at Jazzlab in Brunswick on Friday December 14th. They’ll play a short set, we’ll play a short set, then we’ll both play a set together. That’s right, two bands on the one stage. It’ll be wild. Details will be announced soon, and this will be a ticketed show, so stay tuned.

Bane

The Experiment head up to Brisbane this coming weekend to shake the windows and rattle the walls. We’ve got a headline show at the Junk Bar on Saturday October 20th, and then we are playing a more subdued set supporting Jackie Marshall’s ‘Lilith Shrugs’ Album Launch at Brisbane Powerhouse on Sunday Oct 21st.

There are still a small amount of tickets available for the Junk Bar show, but they are selling fast, so if you want to get along, you’d better book one. Oztix are taking care of that and you can get yours here at the jump.

Skukum

The Experiment is travelling up to Brisbane in October to play a very special show at The Junk Bar’s Skukum Lounge. It’s on Saturday Oct 20th, and will be our only headline show for the year up in Brisbane. Joining us will be our friends Fraser & Stone, and this will most likely sell out, so it’s highly advised you book a ticket, and book it soon, as there’s limited places available. Tickets are available through Oztix and via the The Junk Bar Website here.

This Friday October 12th we’re back in Melbourne and playing a hometown show at one of our favourite venues, the Coburg RSL. Two sets from 8:30pm, and the generous people at the RSL are providing free entry for good-looking people, which means you.

Thanks to everyone who also came out to see us on our recent jaunt up to Sydney, Maitland, and Canberra. It was great to see so many new faces, and we were very happy to play for you all. Thanks to Jackie Marshall for having us along on the tour too - check out her new record Lilith Shrugs, because it’s a pearler - it got a four-star review from The Weekend Australian just the other day. Special thanks also to Melissa Fraser for being an experimenter on Bass for these shows too!

Junk

In October, the CP Experiment will be heading up to Brisbane, QLD, to play a ticketed show at The Junk Bar in Ashgrove. It'll be our only headlining show in Brisbane for the year, so I hope you can make it. Support is from Fraser and Stone, and it's all happening on Saturday October 20th. Before we do that though, we'll also be hitting the road for some shows with Jackie Marshall to support her album launch, and here are those dates:

What fun to support our friends The Good Minus with their single launch at the Old Bar. They are such nice guys. Too nice, maybe. It makes you think they are up to something.

Our next show will be on Thursday July 12th at The Retreat as a double headliner with musical legends John Dowler's Vanity Project. Two sets of power-pop meets desert psychedelia to feast your ears upon. Free and easy from 8:30pm.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us and our desert soundscapes at Ben Mastwyk's launch last week. You can pick up or stream Ben's new album at all good suppliers.

The next Experiment gig will be Thursday June 14th at The Old Bar in Fitzroy, Melbourne. We'll be supporting our friends The Good Minus as they launch their new single 'Wonderful'. Also playing will be one of our musical heroes, Mr J. Walker of Machine Translations. The cover's only $10 and it's gonna be a night of pretty excellent music. Come along and smell that fresh desert breeze.

Our next Experiment show is supporting our good friend and pinball fanatic Ben Mastwyk for his album launch at The Melba Spiegeltent on Friday June 1st. Mayhem

The next Experiment gig coming up will be on Sunday May 6th at The Standard in Fitzroy. You want musical rambling, we got it. Two sets of it, in fact.

My music isn't being featured this time, but the next New Stage concert is taking place on Wednesday May 2nd at Some Velvet Morning in Clifton Hill from 8:30pm. Come along to hear new music from May Lyon, Luke Speedy-Hutton, Wayne Kington, and Eli Simic-Prosic.

Minus/Agadez

I've just recently received a proper recording of the Flinders Quartet performing my piece Agadez, which is the second part of my first String Quartet that was written last year. It's from the live concert at The Docklands, and they do a really wonderful job of it; it was a privilege to work with such wonderful musicians. I hope you enjoy listening to it here:

The Experiment and I have a show coming up next week on Thursday April 19th at The Retreat Hotel in Brunswick. Joining us will be fellow sonic voyeurs The Good Minus. It's free, and the sounds takes you somewhere pubic transport never could.
